Aircon Gas Top Up

Aircon Gas Top Up in Singapore

With Singapore’s all-year-round tropical climate, the constant warm and humid weather necessitates a well-functioning air conditioning system in our homes and workplaces.

When the air conditioner is not emitting cold air, the first thing that most people would think of is that the AC doesn’t have enough refrigerant gas and would need an aircon gas top up service.

Under normal circumstances, there isn’t a need to top up the aircon refrigerant regularly as the coolant generally do not diminish over time or with usage.

However, due to underlying reasons such as unsealed leakages in the piping, loose or faulty joints, the aircon gas may leak from the air conditioning system over time.  This leading to a gradual drop in your AC performance to cool and dehumidify the air efficiently.

Common Signs That a Gas Top Up is Required

Keep an eye out for any unusual signs from your AC unit and get in touch with us immediately if you notice any of the occurrences below, including:

  • Water leaking
  • Ice formed over the evaporator coils
  • Continuous poor or under performance
  • Aircon keeps running continuously
  • AC units switches on & off frequently

Why is it Important to Check Your Aircon Gas Level?

It is important to check the level of your aircon gas for several reasons:

  1. Less than optimal amount of refrigerant means your AC is unable to cool the emitted air to your desired temperature.
  2. This also means that the compressor is more likely to overheat and breakdown, leading to higher repair costs.
  3. In addition, low levels of aircon refrigerant is a warning sign of something more serious – unsealed leakages in the piping, faulty or loose joints or other electro-mechanical faults. These need to be addressed immediately to prevent further damage to your entire air conditioning system.

Our AC Gas Top Up Process

Our Aircon gas top up service is done by following our Proven-5-Step Process:
  • Step 1: Checking current Gas Level - our technicians will use a pressure gauge to check the refrigerant level in your Aircon system. This helps them determine if your issues are caused by low levels of aircon gas or some other reasons.
  • Checking the gas level can also help our technician assess how much gas needs to be filled in or purge (if previously over-filled).
  • Step 2: General system check - next, our technicians will do an overall assessment of your AC system to determine the main cause of the leak and propose the corrective measures accordingly.
    Checks including sussing out for:
    - faulty or loose joints
    - worn out or faulty components
At this junction, we would be able to update if there are any parts that needs to be repaired or replaced before proceeding to top up the refrigerant gas.
